Arashi Nagase (永瀬 嵐 Nagase Arashi) is a supporting character in the Paradise Kiss anime and manga series.
Hot-tempered but kind on the inside, Arashi is the punk rock member of the ParaKiss crew, as well as a student in Yazawa School for the Arts. He is also the childhood friend and boyfriend of Miwako Sakurada. They eventually marry later on in the story and have a daughter together.
Biography[]
Arashi is the first-born child to a rockstar named Takeshi Nagase and his wife Risa Kanzaki.
At some point during his childhood, Arashi met and befriended both Miwako Sakurada and Hiroyuki Tokumori and they became inseparable since. And while it's evident that their friendship had progressed relatively well, a rift eventually came in between the three when Arashi found himself falling in love with Miwako.
While it's apparent that Miwako had liked both, Arashi did express some intense jealousy towards Hiroyuki for the way he appears "clean-cut" and a prodigy at that. As a result, this led him to become inferior to where he'd compare himself to the latter. Seeing that someone like him would not be suitable for a girl like Miwako.
Although Miwako had ultimately chose Arashi and that they're officially dating, Arashi would make it clear that she [Miwako] loses contact with Hiroyuki. To the point where he'd threaten the latter by breaking up with her, should she stay in touch, see him, or even talk to him.
Appearance[]
Arashi is a young man with a tall and lean build.
He has a fair complexion, outrageously spiky blonde hair, and brown eyes.
He has a tattoo on his right shoulder, five piercings on his ears, and two safety pin piercings located on his lip and one of his eyebrows.
The clothes he wears is a reflection of his punk rock style, and he is almost never seen without his guitar that he carries along with him when he goes off to practice.
Personality and traits[]
Arashi, for the most part, can be described as outspoken and hot tempered. But beneath that exterior lies a very kind person who cares greatly about others, even those within his inner circle.
While George appears to take great joy in teasing Arashi (albeit lightheartedly), the latter can usually be seen as exasperated by his antics. As for Yukari, his first impression of her wasn't off to a great start, especially at the point when she disdainfully rejected the offer to being a model for the school, he and the Para crew currently attend as 3rd years. However, after she apologized for her rudeness, he apologizes as well, and from there--they become really good friends.
His relationship with Miwako can be seen as happy, however, that's not to say that there are times when they'd have their own quarrels. Despite such, they make up and become a loving couple again in the end.
