Jōji Koizumi (小泉譲二 Koizumi Jōji), better known as George, is a secondary character in the Paradise Kiss anime and manga series.
During his introduction in the story, he is a student who attends Yazawa School for the Arts, the creator of ParaKiss, followed by the love interest of Yukari Hayasaka.
Sometime after graduating school, and that ParaKiss eventually came to a disclose after the school's fashion show event, George is seen traveling to Paris with Isabella at his side, in order to continue in pursuing fashion design. From there, he mails Yukari the key to his storage, in which he's kept all of the clothes and the dress (that she wore). Afterwards, he offers both Yukari and her husband tickets to a Broadway show where he serves as a costume designer.
Biography[]
George is known to be a perpetually smug and manipulative man that leads the Paradise Kiss group at the atelier underneath his charming and charismatic nature.
Although he seems to be a wealthy bachelor on the surface, George was suggested to have been an accident as he is not a legitimate son of his executive father. Due to his mother becoming pregnant with him at a young age, and that she blames him for ruining her modeling career.
Since childhood, George was exceptionally passionate about fashion and design. Because of this, he's been making dresses alongside his friend, Isabella Yamamoto. In fact, George was the first person to have made Isabella's first dress by hand. In addition to this fact, he shows a different side of his personality by reassuring the latter that she doesn't have to dress like a boy if she doesn't want to and is free to choose her own identity.
George falls for Yukari over the course of the story, referring her as his muse, yet she also exasperates him. George is often hot and cold with her. He seems to enjoy toying with her emotions and naivete.
After the disbanding of ParaKiss, Yukari and George break off their relationship as he decides to go to Paris instead of remaining in Japan--their brand never sold a single piece of clothing.
At first when he entered the adult world, he decides to become a makeup artist, believing that his chances of making it in Japan are slim due to the artistic but impractical designs he loves. This is most likely true as it is the reason his design does not win their school competition, coming in at #2 instead. His father agrees to pay for George to travel to Paris in order to study Haute Couture rather than ready-to-wear clothing. He plans to leave alone until Isabella Yamamoto joins him last minute on the boat without his knowledge, as she wishes to continue creating his dress patterns.

George is described as a very handsome young man with a lean but toned build.
He has a light complexion, three hoop piercings (2 on his left and one on his right), short blue colored hair that's dyed, and a darker shade of blue for his eyes. His outward appearance causes Yukari to comically remark how he resembles like an alien from outer space.
His sense of fashion can be deduced as formal and almost prince-like, as most of his outfits are complemented with stylish hats etc.
Personality and Traits[]
George's overall personality in the story is rather complex.
One moment he's charming and charismatic, then he comes off as smug. Although he's capable of caring deeply about those in his inner circle, there also some instances where he can come off as rude and heartless because of the fact how he prefers to not integrate himself into roles or anyone's expectations of him. In addition to his complex persona, he tends to speak his mind without having to care about what someone else have to express, much to the detriment of his relationship with Yukari.
George has a manipulative side and will do what it takes to get what he wants, such as when he called Yukari's house to see where she was or drove to her school to return her ID to her. He encourages his friends to discover the depths of their ambitions and boldly embrace their own identities. He despises when women put the men they love--or romance--before their own goals, a trait coming from what he observed of his mother and father's relationship. George is bisexual, claiming to be an "equal opportunity lover." George sees his designs as the purest art and has no business sense, not seeming to care whether Paradise Kiss' clothing has buyers or not.
